What Mind Match is

Mind Match is the concentration card game: a grid of face-down cards, two flipped at a time, matching pairs stay up and mismatches turn back over. There are four stages, growing from six pairs to fifteen, and clearing a board moves you to the next one.

There is no failure state. You cannot lose a stage, run out of turns or be sent back — the only question is how efficiently you clear each board. There is no time limit either, though elapsed time is shown and feeds a speed bonus worth up to 500 points that shrinks as the clock runs on.

A Peek briefly reveals the whole board. It costs 150 points and you get one per stage. A mismatch resets your match streak but deducts nothing, so a wrong guess costs you the bonus you were building rather than points you already had.

How it plays

Tap a card to flip it, then a second to look for its match. A matching pair stays face up; a miss flips both back. On a keyboard, the arrow keys move and Enter or Space flips. P pauses, and the Peek button reveals the board once per stage for 150 points.

Getting better at it

One option is to work the board in a fixed order at the start rather than tapping around at random. The same number of cards is revealed either way, but a systematic sweep gives each card a position in a sequence as well as a place on the board.

Taking a pair as soon as both halves are known keeps the match streak running, since the streak counts consecutive matches and a mismatch in between resets it.

A mismatch resets that streak but deducts no points, so the cost of a wrong guess is the bonus being built rather than anything already banked. That makes revealing an unseen card and guessing at a half-remembered one two different kinds of turn, with different things at stake.

Peek costs 150 points and the speed bonus starts at 500 and shrinks as a stage runs on. Both numbers are on screen, so the trade can be read directly rather than estimated: what a Peek costs is fixed, what it saves depends on how much of the stage is left.

Who it suits

There is no clock forcing the pace and no way to lose, so the game can be played as slowly as you like. It works on a phone and with a keyboard.

It also works with someone else watching, since every flip is visible to both of you and the board state is entirely open — there is no hidden information beyond what has not been turned over yet.

Questions

Can I lose?

No. There is no failure state — no turn limit and nothing that sends you back. The only variable is how efficiently you clear each of the four stages.

What does Peek cost?

150 points, and you get one per stage. It briefly reveals the whole board.

Is there a timer?

There is no time limit, but elapsed time is shown and feeds a speed bonus worth up to 500 points, which shrinks the longer a stage takes.
