What Gravity Cannon is
Gravity Cannon is a physics puzzle. You fire a photon lance from a fixed cannon and every mass on the screen bends its path: planets curve it, moons nudge it, and ordinary black holes bend it hard and can swallow it outright. Only the rarer dense singularities can capture a shot into orbit. Each sector has one target, and the first hit on it ends the lance, so the puzzle is finding an arc that reaches the target rather than one that lingers.
There are 30 authored sectors, after which the game continues with procedurally generated ones. Between sectors you spend the cores you have collected on upgrades, and those upgrades belong to the run: when it ends they go with it. A predicted path shows where a shot will go while you aim, and it runs ahead of your finger so your hand is never covering the part you need to read.
How it plays
Drag from the cannon to aim and release to fire. Watch the predicted path bend as you move. Hit the target to clear the sector.
Getting better at it
Aiming past a planet rather than at it uses its pull. A slingshot around the far side of a mass reaches places a straight line cannot, so which side of an obstacle to pass is itself a choice. The predicted path is free to experiment with, since nothing is committed until you release.
Treat ordinary black holes as hazards rather than tools. They bend a lance sharply and can swallow it, ending the shot with nothing to show. The dense singularities are the ones that can hold a shot in orbit, and even then the outcome depends on how deep the pass is.
If a shot leaves the visible area but would still curve back, the view zooms out to follow it, so a lance that has gone off-screen has not necessarily missed. In later sectors a solution can spend a long time out of view before it arrives.
Who it suits
For anyone who likes puzzles with a physical model underneath rather than a set of arbitrary rules. The same gravity maths applies in every sector, so a shot that behaved a certain way early on behaves that way later too.
Upgrades reset with each run, so every attempt starts from the same footing rather than accumulating power. Past the 30 authored sectors the layouts are generated, and the upgrades offered vary as well, so two attempts do not line up exactly.
Questions
Can I see where the shot will go?
Yes. A predicted path updates as you aim, and it deliberately runs ahead of your finger so your hand does not cover it.
What do black holes do?
An ordinary black hole bends the lance hard and can swallow it. Only the denser singularities can capture a shot into orbit.
Do upgrades carry over between runs?
No. Upgrades belong to the run you earned them in and reset when it ends, so every attempt starts from the same footing.
